The Case for Values Education

This book is a summons to action on the part of America’s school boards, a clarion call for a K-12 curriculum that has at its base, education in CORE DEMOCRATIC VALUES.  More than ever before, the need for education in civics across America’s public schools has never been more critical.

It’s time to reimagine the purpose of education. Without proper education in civics, would our youth naturally develop a commitment to, or active concern for, our CORE DEMOCRATIC VALUES? What could be a more noble purpose of K-12 education than to inculcate in the minds of our youth the core values of American constitutional democracy?

America’s school boards have a colossal challenge –and opportunity, as well- to forge a much-needed renaissance in civics education which could serve as a crucial propellant for the fortification of American democracy for generations to come.
